Welcome to 2009!
Get a head start on your career search. A few tips on how to approach your search:
1. Update your resume!
2. Apply to jobs that you are qualified for, do not apply everywhere. If you are looking for a career change write that in your cover letter, but make sure your resume is tailored to your relevant strengths of your career.
3. Track the company, job title and date you send your resume.
4. If you are working with recruiters ask that you know the company before you have your resume submitted. That will avoid duplicate efforts, this does not look good to the potential employer.
5. Be patient! It takes time to review resumes.
6. Be confident in yourself and your skill sets.
7. Point out your accomplishments and milestones in your career.
8. After an interview send a thank you!
9. Always be positive finding a new career can be job in and of itself. Take your time and remain positive.
